I agree , Fair and Free elections are not democracy in totality. I, nevertheless am convinced ,it is an important start of the democratic process. I am therefore very glad and reassured that Guyanas elections provide a very clear indication of the will of the people. One man , one vote , the party with the highest votes have clearly earn the right to govern. Full stop!!. What we must focus on then, is the issue of governance. How is our country governed from day to day. How do we ensure that every citizen is fairly treated. How do we ensure that the allegations and fears of bribery and corruption are investigated and stamped out . How do we all live everyday guided by the same rules of law regardless of who you are. How do we find the formula to give true meaning to the term inclusionary Democracy . My thoughts as I drift off to sleep.
