I agree that children should be off limits, but how does one stupid comment create so much backlash that it forces someone to resign? Ms. Lautens apology did seem sincere and her comments werent as bad as many have been. It just really seems to me that our society is constantly forced to make concessions and throw all accountability and pride out the window for the sake of others. Instead of working harder to improve themselves, many people just want you to accept who they are and respect them no matter what. What happened to earning respect? What happened to earning anything? The problem is the people crying the loudest arent willing to return the same respect and dignity either. This is bullying plain and simple. You know, many things this administration is doing is hurting my feelings and making me fear for my safety. You know what Ill get if I send them a letter telling them this? Nothing. Then I ask, how is my life or sense of well being any less important than anyone in Washington? I mean really, there are many more people like me than there are politicians. The average citizen and their sense of well being is really what sets the tone of life in America does it not? Wasnt this the goal of Democracy and why this country was founded......to get away from the oppression created by bureaucratic greed? Well, Im keeping my fingers crossed and saying lots of prayers that we just get through to the next election without having our total economy and way of life damaged beyond repair. ;D
