I agree that the writers went too far in making an idiot just because if his design and recent portrayal in the games, but Knuckles was never dumb, but is just naive which caused him to do things that made him seem dumb (e.g. Believing Eggman in Sonic 3 and SA1) However I personally cannot complain, because I never liked how Knuckles was portrayed in the games recently either (but from what Ive read of the comics hes fine). I thought Knuckles became such an unlikable character, because they made him the comic relief (half the time not a very good one) and was just so annoying and came off as obnoxious to me (ESPECIALLY in Sonic X- I hate him more than Chris and that is sad...) His characterisation from SA1 to Heroes was PERFECT!! (For me Heroes being the best) and after Shadow they just made him irrelevant or just... Meh or borderline uninteresting. His backstory and personality are so interesting and I wish they fleshed out his character more and not make him into the selfish loner they made him in Sonic X Boom!Knuckles (at least for me) makes me chuckle about how dumb he is now (Seriously he cant read?!) Modern Knuckles has no appeal to me and thats where I stand. What do you think of Knuckles now taking in all of all the canons into consideration? I miss his raps along with his balanced serious/ laid back personality in Heroes and the adventure games. He was still committed to guarding the Master Emerald, but still able to hang with Sonic and Tails and and be SONIC HEROES and spread the SUPERPOWER OF TEAMWORK!!
