I agree with you utterly and completely, that when a persons spiritual progress goes to his head he should be stopped. However, in the past I have experienced another phenomenon that also needs to be addressed. When I was much younger. I had a lot of friends that would join me in going out into the streets of New York City and distributing free literature on Christianity and how glorious it is and how much it can help people change their lives for the better. I was so happy doing this all the time because I saw so many good results which left me with a smile on my face that would never quit. Then every now and then someone would accuse me of being prideful and I knew beyond all shadow of doubt that I was not because I was so happy seeing people come to the Lord. So that side of the story also needs to be addressed: just because a person is very very happy and there are many blessings being shared doesnt automatically mean that someone is arrogant or self-willed or prideful. HOWEVER, when they do in fact get into that dark place of making their ministry all about themselves, then they ought to be shown the error of their ways but lets not be too quick to prejudge.
