I always check out the La Corbiere lighthouse section on Old Post card stalls when going to collectors Fayes and apart from the well know postcards showing the lighthouse with the U/WaKoFest in the foreground or the ones of MP2 I came across this little beauty B-) It is a view of the La Corbiere headland and lighthouse taken from LOeilliere. This is quite a rare postcard as (I guess) the view is not that spectacular for the general tourist, but for the bunker historian it is spectacular! Taken some point between 1945 and the winter of 1952/53, the searchlight bunker is clearly visible still with its chimney. The M19s rubble covered flank and also part of the camouflaged wall above the doorway are visible. Two large rocky outcrops can be seen rising up in front of the headland (known as Tetes de Grouet) and between them a conspicuous level 20 degree slope dropping towards the M19. At the top of this slope (on the left side) is a bump which is the Type 20p7 turret of the 6-Sch. bunker! (y)
