I always like to post this poem for holidays that honor the brave - TopicsExpress

I always like to post this poem for holidays that honor the brave men and women who serve our country. I never get tired of reading or hearing it, and it brings tears to my eyes each time. Two of the most important men in my life served this great country. My dad, who served in the US Marine Corps and bravely fought in the Vietnam War, and who is now the best guardian angel I have. Then, my husband, who served in the US Air Force and now serves and protects his community. Happy Veterans Day to all our Vets, past and present! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It Is the Soldier It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag. © Copyright 1970 2010 Charles M.
