I always wanted to meet Truett Cathy. Growing up in my East Point - TopicsExpress

I always wanted to meet Truett Cathy. Growing up in my East Point hood, I was always proud of the fact that Truett once owned and lived in a tiny house on Sylvan Road, parallel to our house on Palm Drive. I got to see him speak at an event once, but I never got to meet him. However, my mom did. Back in the 80s, she got a job at the Chick-fil-A headquarters counting coupons. Those of you that know my mom know that she is a quiet, even shy, lady. She doesnt say much unless she really has something to say. One day she sat down with her tray to eat lunch in the HQ cafeteria. As she was eating, she heard a man say Is this seat taken? It was Truett and his wife. My mom enjoyed a nice conversation with this humble, personable, genuine man. It always stuck with me that the founder and (then) president of CFA did not think of himself more highly than he ought. (Romans 12:3) Im now proud to live in Hapeville Georgia near the original The Hapeville Dwarf House. God bless the Cathy family and the CFA family in their time of loss.
