I always wanted to thank my Maths Teacher from secondary school. When I was older, I bumped in to her on the street one day and did just that. I explained how much she had helped me and why I found the subject so hard. The reason being that my parents has separated when I was in primary and although I attended school every day, my head was in an altogether different place. For that reason, I missed vital learning and by the time I was 15, I struggled in a huge way. My teacher nurtured me, because she could see that I had potential and she gave me endless encouragement and precious time. When she learned this, she gave me a hug and cried. She told me that she could see a gap in my education and now she understood why. We both walked away happier that day :)
