I always wondered why my mom never went to church with my siblings and I, she would always send us, keeping us connected and deeply rooted. She never talked down on ministry, she alwsys encouraged us to go and serve. I later found out that she was a faithful member at one time, serving in many ministries including being a Sunday school teacher. It surprised me when I hesrd that because she never would go with us. Shortly before she passed she told me why she became distant from the church, she had been hurt by the folk in the church which put a bitter taste in her mouth. She would not go to church but she definitely served the people of god, feeding the hungry, giving to the poor etc. I realize that it takes a lot more than that to please God but I kinda share her feelings because Ive experienced similar hurts in ministry not only by members but also by people of leadership roles. Im determined to stand until God tells me to move............PEACE BE STILL!
