I am Gene Taylor and I am running for the Beavercreek Board of Education because I believe in my community and its schools. My connection with the Beavercreek community and Beavercreek City Schools has been lengthy and dedicated. Listed below is a brief history of that connection along with some personal information. Education: • BS and MS Degrees in Education from Wright State University • Additional 50+ hours post graduate work at various universities Work Experience in Education: • 1976 – 1980 Teacher in West Carrollton City Schools • 1980 – 2011 Teacher in Beavercreek Schools ( Shaw Elementary and Ferguson MS) • 1977 – 1987 Wrestling coach in West Carrollton and Beavercreek Non-Educational Work Experience: • 1980 – 1984 - Owner - Taylor Made Landscaping Services • 1984 – Current – CEO Gene Taylor Builders Inc. I believe the citizens of Beavercreek are proud of their schools and their accomplishments. Many people have moved to Beavercreek primarily because of excellent schools. However, schools can operate efficiently only with the resources taxpayers are willing to provide. As a taxpayer, I am fully aware that we must be good stewards of our resources. Good schools bring business and jobs to our community and enhance property values. The continued growth of Beavercreek can be positively correlated with the success of an ever improving, robust educational system in Beavercreek. All community members, whether or not they have children currently in school, benefit from effective, highly-performing schools. Not only have I been a teacher in Beavercreek, but I have also been a parent, grandparent, and businessman. I think this gives me a broad perspective that will serve you well.
