I am a 55 year old penciller/ inker who has worked in the industry, most notably for AC Comics. I started reading DC Comics in 1966 with the introduction of the Batman TV show which debuted in January of that year. I stuck with DC through the Neal Adams era , the Kirby Fourth World saga , the turbulent 1970s which saw Carmine Infantino as publisher and then with the late 1970s which introduced Jeanette Kahn who promised change and bot did she ever deliver ! The 80s bought us Frank Millers Ronin , Alan Moore who did a major re-boot on Swamp Thing starting with The Anatomy Lesson and then proceeded to amaze us even more with both The Killing Joke and The Watchmen . John Byrne bought us a rebirth of Superman while Frank Miller breathed new life into the Batman with The Dark Knight and Batman Year One while George Perez bought us a new Wonder Woman steeped in Greek Mythology. The 90s bought us James Robinsons excellent Starman series while , Mark Waid & Alex Ross Delivered us from evil with Kingdom Come . I stuck with DC until 2011 when both Jim Lee & Dan Didio were named co-publishers and ruined the DC Universe by throwing away over 75 years of history and continuity all for the sake of profit. When those 2 are fired and the DC Universe that I know is restored to normalcy, only then will DC Comics ever see another cent from me again. And yes, I did draw the Superman piece which accompanies this rant !!!!
