I am a country preacher, preaching all life from the time I have know myself I was preaching. I have had 7 churches over 45 years and I have preached 42 revivals in a twelve month period. But this last two months have tried my soul and faith in God more than it has ever been tried. I had voice problems!!!!!!!!! Now, you can preach with no legs, no hands, no eyes but you cant preach with no voice. September and October are big months for a country preacher that does spring and fall revivals. But this fall I had three teaching and lecturing opportunities that I want to do good on, as I age I need more teaching and lecturing opportunities that require less physical strength and more mental application. I prepared for both so when opportunity comes I will be able. But with no voice you cant do neither. I wood start preaching and my voice would start leaving fast. and I had no (5th) as Bishop James Morton says every preacher got to have a 5th to take the house. I went on a fast for five 24 hour periods and I went to the doctor but it just kept happening, I had to time everything to make sure I had voice to close and make the main points. I have 13 sermons and lectures before the end of the month, I am resting all day, praying all night and trying old home made voice fixers that men like C.A.W. Clark gave me years ago. When Nov. 1 comes I am going to find a place where God and I can have a long private talk, hopefully I get a better answer than Job.
