I am a dance teacher... That is what I do... I may not be as good a dancer as some of the other dance teachers around, but my qualifications are certainly higher than theirs. I dont care if I cant kick as high or move as well as any one else, teaching is my passion and as long as my students are having fun, learning technique correctly and all my dances are original, I dont give a crap what anyone else thinks of me. Just because you can dance well does not make you a good teacher. I have so much to learn and will continue to learn until I die. Anyone who thinks they know everything already is stupid. I am sick to death of dancers who think if they kick their legs high and can tumble all over the stage it makes them better than those who can control a pirouette or and arabesque perfectly. Technique and passion is more important than anything else in dancing... Tricks are great, but if youre soul is dead when you dance you may as well give up, because you are dancing for the wrong reason. I love dance more than anything. I dont teach for the money or the glory, I teach to give back to the community and to give kids the chance to express themselves the only way I know how. I have had every mark from a fail to distinction, but it doesnt matter what I get as long as at the end of the day I can go to bed knowing I danced to the best of my ability. I know I am not the best teacher, the best dancer or the best choreographer... But I have never ever claimed to be. Dont compare me to anyone, because I am not actually competing against anyone. I am me... Like me or dont, I dont care. At the end of the day I am content being exactly who I am and will continue to grow and learn as a teacher and pass on everything I know to my students.
