I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and sometimes it takes a while to get there. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a workaholic. They also know that I absolutely hate change. I made a decision in the spring that was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. It was bad enough that I was miserable but then to hear from the grapevine that some thought I had missed things at my previous job put my self esteem at an all time low. Even when I went for a personal appointment I was told that there were professional people there now. I spent many (most) days in tears. With the encouragement of my cousin and best friend I applied, interviewed and accepted a position at Ruby Memorial Hospital. I have learned so many new things in a very short time and have some awesome co-workers. After having my evaluation yesterday I am even more excited with the upcoming education and opportunity that is being given to me to expand my knowledge to the inpatient coding world. I will never again let anyone influence my self esteem. I realized yesterday that if a Level 1 Trauma center is happy with my work I do a good job. Thank you, thank you Teresa Hutzler and Johnna Shea Riggleman for listening to me and pushing me to move on. I am the happiest I have been at my job in many, many years!
