I am a lifelong member of the Republican Party although my views are fiscal conservatism meshed with social moderation, and in some areas you could even call me leaning liberal, such as allowing college loan interest rates to be capped. I think my strongest asset has been to be able to look at problems and try to come up with realistic solutions. Upon hearing President Obamas speech tonight regarding immigration, my first thought was, this actually makes some sense. Lets get people out of the shadows get them onto the tax rolls and lets see what happens. So I call out to the Republicans in Congress to not play politics with this one. Craft legislation that puts the rules in place that make what President Obama addressed a realistic solution. And if you want to build up the border and strengthen security on our borders then do that in another bill. You dont have to stick every little thing into one single bill. Thats the beauty of our democracy. Lets see what happens in a year or two and adjust as needed. Its a good step forward. Kudos to President Obama.
