I am a member of Unite the union. Tomorrow I will be phoning up to ensure that none of my dues money makes its way into the hands of the Red Tories. Unions are essential to a democratic society. As a syndicalist I am more in favour of unions than I am of any other institution in society. However British trade unions are in general affiliated to the Labour Party. They have political funds which *give money* to the Labour Party. In the aftermath of the Red Tories shafting Scotland, and enforcing £6billion of cuts and 100,000 job losses on Scotland it is essential that *every* union member in Scotland *cancels* their contribution to their unions funding for the Labour Party. If that means cancelling your contribution to the political fund in general, so be it. Smash the Red Tories. They are the single biggest threat to democracy for Scotland. #redtoriesout.
