I am a motorcyclist. A rider. A biker. A driver. A man. A father. A husband. A brother. A son. A panel beater. A spray painter. A business owner. A tax payer. An Australian. A person who strives for excellence. A person who sometimes makes mistakes. A person who works hard to pay my way. A person who is proud. A person with the right to be myself. When Bin Laden attacked freedom and when Hitler attacked race, many stood by. We look back upon history now at those times and ones similar and we wonder how no one saw it coming, why they let it get that far. The signs were there. The signs are HERE. This is your time to unite with your fellow associates in any form - be it a cricket club, a mothers group, a band. Dont stop. DO WHAT YOU LOVE. The laws being exercised in excess toward those riding motorcycles in the state of Queensland do not stipulate that they apply only to bikies. They are worded with references to those who associate, who come together as a group with a common interest. Many of you sport the Eureka Stockade flag but do you understand what it represents? It stands for a time when the expectations of the law were beyond reasonable for the citizens bound within it. It is testimony to the possibility of what can be achieved against the odds. I urge you all to consider the potential future if we allow the current jurisdictions to stand. Which liberties are you happy to give away? - Steve Kirkup.
