I am a no good nigga I am a product of my environment destined to be a nothing ass nigga. I am a hood nigga I am the product of an environment that shifted my thinking to become I wish I a nigga would type of nigga. I am the product of an environment that says I’ll never be more than a baby daddy type nigga. I am a street nigga I am the product of an environment that says I have no voice unless it is on top of a beat type nigga. I am an impoverished nigga My ceiling is suppose to consist of a corner, a club, a cell or a casket I am a nigga Not because I chose to be but because I am suppose to be. But suppose I chose to change the nigga that society saw within me. I would be a radical kind of a nigga One who knows that I am the product of an environment that created hope away from their homeland! I am the product of an environment that sang songs of Zion in a strange and foreign land. I am the product of an environment that did not allow a whip cause a wish for death. I am the product of an environment that did not allow the sighting of strange fruit to stop their striving for freedom and equality. I use to be a danger to myself and to others Willing to slit a throat and cause tragedy; and heartache for two mothers No respect for life or death as I willing to gamble and bet my living through Russian roulette That was before I discovered that my purpose was more than just existing It was connected to me living – living a life that empowered me to bring sight to those who were just as blind as I. I am a nigga in society and a sinner in the church But it is funny how the church is the place where I first identified being hurt. They celebrate you when you conform, condemn you when you are being transformed Freeing you from religious norm, identifying life from a more spiritual form A spiritual form that informs you that God is neither a dictator nor a spectator But God is a creator who delegates power to allow you to be the originator of your creative desires to perform your purpose. I am not a slave to my purpose but I was saved by my purpose because my life experiences brought me and God on the same page concerning my purpose. I am an aide to the Alpha and the Omega. I fill the blanks from the beginning to the end. I am free, I am empowered, and I am original.
