I am a person who shies away from funerals, weddings, baptisms, graduations, reunions, and parties of all kinds. I am uncomfortable with groups. even if they are friends, and more so with strangers; but Mary Cole Sayers memorial service last night was different and I am so very very glad I was there. Some spirits are so irrepressible you can still feel them while the mortal body lies quiet. Those stirrups are empty now, but I am forever blessed by my brief earthly contact with the person who filled them so ably. Ive never danced in a church before, or clapped my hands, and it may never happen again.... so today I am grateful for my time in Jonesville last night.
