I am a runner; I am a fighter; I am a winner. I love to run. I have been running since I was 15. Sometimes when I have problems, I put my shoes on and literally run away from them. The road is my companion. And I just surrender. There is no better feeling than when I am running. I am fighter too. I train at the gym 3 times a week. It builds my endurance and teaches me to put mind over matter. It tells me that pain is only temporary; the feeling of victory lasts forever. Sports has influenced me tremendously. It has taught me to play fair. And yet, I give my opponent a damn good fight. I never quit. I have a motto: lose if you have to but lose fighting. My ultimate idol – tennis star Michael Chang. I remember so vividly watching him play at the Roland Garros stadium in 1989. In a game that is known to be one of longest in the tennis history, the 17-year old battled for 4 hours 37 minutes to defeat the then World No 1 Ivan Lendl at the French Open. In a press interview Michael said: “If I quit once, the second, third, fourth or fifth time when faced with difficulty, Im going to quit again and again. Win or lose, I am going to fight until the end.” What an inspiration! I am Madhavi a.k.a Maddie, PR head for World Markets Asia, based out of Singapore. Sports is what I do when I am not producing good work at Mediabrands. #allthatwedo # wedomoreSG
