I am a self-confessed geek: An uber Geek if the truth be told! Sat watching the tv late last night confirmed it......... with Synth Brittannia on BBC4 - All the music I used to (and still often do) listen to: Kraftwerk, The Normal, The (real) Human League, OMD, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Joy Division, John Foxx, Tubeway Army, Fad Gadget (they didnt actually play any of his stuff but showed a brief clip of him with a voiceover) and a good few more...... plus a few Id forgotten about. It was the soundtrack to my youth and the weekly trips out in to Leeds to buy the latest vinyl releases of the stuff I used to dance to at concerts and under-age forays in the likes of the Warehouse and Phonographique. It also marked my progression from punk rocker to something a whole lot meaner and moodier....... apparently I was a synth popper; And I never even knew it! So! Im spending today airing some classic vinyl whilst creating stuff for the next generation of mini-geeks; Long may we rule!!!!
