I am a transman (FTM), filmmaker, and activist, with a muscle - TopicsExpress

I am a transman (FTM), filmmaker, and activist, with a muscle disease. I use a wheelchair, and depend on caregivers to get me out of bed, get me dressed, etc. My primary care worker has worked for me for 12 years, but she may have to quit, since for the past four months, she either has not been paid or has been paid at least $300 less per week. Her bills keep stacking up, and I live in her house, as Im not comfortable being alone, in case of an emergency. If she cannot pay her house payment, then I have no place to live, either. I worry that if I have to replace her, then someone transphobic will end up working for me. They have to do highly sensitive care, that involves me being naked sometimes, and they would know I am trans from my surgery scars, amongst other things. I am scared to death about this, as I was once outed to a care worker, when I was still in the closet, and hiding many years ago. It led to excessive amounts of harassment, especially when I was out of my wheelchair, stuck in bed, and unable to defend myself. I do not want that to happen again, or worse, become a victim of violence, because they do not agree with who I am or didnt really understand what trans meant. I also face the possibility of having to go to a facility if she cannot work for me, and there Id have zero control over my care. Please, check out my story, and if you can help, spread the word. Thank you for your consideration! gofundme/DomPCAFund
