I am a very patriotic person. I cry when I sing the Star Bangled Banner, I have always been involved in veterans support groups , I dont use the flag incorrectly as a wonderful WWII veteran by the name of who lost an arm in the war taught me flag etiquette when we were placing hundreds of flags on military grave sites and I pay taxes. That being said, every time I have seen the gratuitous use of a flag today presumably trying to convince me that holding a flag up makes you patriotic or shows you support veterans, all I could think of was the John Prine song Your Flag Decal Wont Get You Into Heaven Anymore!
