I am all for a positive movement focused on giving women the basic - TopicsExpress

I am all for a positive movement focused on giving women the basic rights intended for every human being to have - and as Emma mentions, not one which demands for rebellion by women in an arrogant, inconsiderate and man-hating manner. I was taught that there is a God-given reason men are given more responsibility, and as a woman I am to respect that. However, if I live a life where men (and women) consciously choose to downgrade, disrespect and hurt me, because I am a female, I cant accept it. Many women are now working full-time / part-time AND are also caretakers of their home, and that is a lot of stress on one person - but it is something, I for one, am conscious of - a choice I will have to make, so I should be ready to accept the consequences of such responsibilities. I think it is an honour to truly love and care for something so much, and I feel it is disrespectful when told otherwise, perhaps even misunderstood and put in my rightful place. That rightful place for many women could mean death. What a privilege it is to live a life I live. I honestly hope that the person I find shares these same beliefs and we can build a relationship on foundations that encourages each other to be the best we can be. Yes, I do care about the issues presented and realise there is more to this whole picture than what my eye sees, and I am learning to understand my position within it, my responsibility towards it, and that is is important to have/voice an opinion (not just sit on the sidelines by choice). Respect, honour and love is what I fight for, because a world without any of the above is just a muddle of empty promises. What is the point if everything is just a case of water under the bridge.
