I am always posting pics and videos of dance and I have to stop and remember to give thanks to the person who is the single influence in my life that exposed me to the world of music at the age of 5 by making sure I received classical training on the piano until I was a teenager, even though she could barely afford it. That person is my Mom. I truly believe that paved the way into the world of dance and all of the gifts that music, movement and artistry have to offer. My mother had the gift of singing and she shared it will all of our family. From the time I was little, people would say she had the voice of an angel and her voice stood above all others at every Sunday mass we attended and all of her performances over the years. Music gave her so much joy just as dance has given me. My mom is now 85 and Parkinsons has finally reach the stage of ravishing her body leaving her with barely a whisper but she still manages to find a way to hum to her favorite songs with such clarity & elegance and can even remember a verse or two. This disease may have taken away her quality of life but her voice will always be the gift that she has cherished forever. I will always be grateful that she not only shared her gift with myself and everyone who knew her but she helped me find the gifts in me. She truly does have the voice of an angel....
