I am amazed at the number of times that we seem to crash into - TopicsExpress

I am amazed at the number of times that we seem to crash into other people or seem to stumble upon sets of circumstances that we did not expect nor anticipate. I do not believe in COINCIDENCE, but instead believe that all things happen for a reason. I have confidence in the idea that there is a plan in spite of the fact that we do not know what is coming or going to happen. We are surrounded by people in our daily lives. Some are friends, some co-workers, and some may be just acquaintances. Did you ever give any thought to how these particular people landed where they did or how they have contributed in some way or another to your life and life experiences? Many think that this is a COINCIDENCE, but I think not. If you look carefully at all these people you would be surprised I think at the impact that they have had on you, and they they arrived not by coincidence, but instead because of a plan that we do not have access to. I have had people come in and out of my life that have changed me forever. I do not think that I ever even saw them coming either. One was a person who taught with me who became a mentor and a great friend to an evolving teacher. We had life discussions, professional discussions, and we even worked together to put together a class that gave our students insight into themselves and a greater understanding of the world that they lived in. This was, without a doubt, a relationship that altered the course of my teaching life. Another man helped me to get closer to God and encouraged my faith development. Then there was landing at CSM and spending 12 summers as the Spiritual Director. It was the right job at the right time in my life, and I was not even looking for a summer job. If these are all coincidences I am very thankful, but I am more inclined to believe that I was in the right place with the right people.....part of the bigger plan for sure. Meeting my wife was also an event that had a great deal to do with the plan the universe has for me and all because of an unexpected phone call from a dear friend. The fact that we crashed into each other is so amazing and I am so glad I was open to the possibilities that these relationship offered all of us. In order for you to appreciate fully the plan that you have no control over is to open your eyes, close your mouth, have an open mind and a heart that is prepared to both give and receive love. Never, ever, disregard any person who comes into your life for whatever reason. If you accept all people and be open to points of view that are different from yours you could expand your horizons exponentially. This could also be true of life events that happen each and every day. Being that we only take this ride we call life once, it behooves all of us to put on our helmets, knee pads, and whatever protective gear that we feel like we need and LIVE LIFE with the expressed intention of daring to do those things outside of our comfort zone. Talk to people you might not know, embrace new challenges that pop up every now and again, engage yourself in the act of living and be confident that all of this is part of the life journey. Live your life knowing that you cannot, and should not, know how each second, minute, day, month or year are meant to turn out is accepting the bigger plan, and that once you embrace this you will enjoy life even more. The Universe is a large place and may beyond our total comprehension.....so embrace ALL PEOPLE AND POSSIBILITIES and coincidence will be insignificant.
