I am baffled by the number of African-American Mothers (this applies to White Women and otherwise with sons of color) who are unbothered by the the recent deaths of young men of color at the hands of bad police officers. I suggest you make sure that your Gerber Life Insurance policies are current because the situation is serious, it is not a joke; it is not something that cannot happen to your child or husband, gated community (Trayvon Martin) or not. Oprahs rant about the lack of organized leadership from the protestors is a sideshow and pure ignorance. I stand behind the protestors who are on the front lines, making noise, disrupting the norm to ensure attention is brought to this serious issue. Even if you are not in the numbers on the streets - marching for the cause that Black Lives Matter, do not be an agitator and speak against the very people standing up for you, your husband, son, brother, cousin, nephew or uncle (or friend, student etc...). STAND FOR SOMETHING and this STAND is not against LAW ENFORCEMENT; it is against a system that allows a few bad apples to get away with injustices without being held ACCOUNTABLE.
