I am beginning to think that no one has read my book at all! I am a changed vampire, I tell you! I do not think Louis would be living with me now if I were not. I would have frightened away my 2 lovelies as well. I have become the icon of seething rage - the perpetually hateful ancient. The monster in the shadows who murders children for sport. I am sure some have even believed me to be the very spirit of chaos. I have been called the vegabond Son of Satan. There was a time when I was these things and arguably more. But has not every vampire had a dark era? The only one of us I could whom I could never make out to be equal in evil is dear Louis. For those who did manage to complete my book, you know how many times I stated my change. It was about 3/4 of the way through my book, when I saw The Veil and met my beautiful new friends and saviors. If you did not manage to get this far, I am sorry that I am so intensely boring that you could not bear to read the last 100 or so pages. What a terrible sin I have committed, not writing like Lestat! Shame, pour fourth over my brow! In any case, the last time I was truly so riled was when Master made my Sybelle and Benji vampires. Even then I did not kill anything, so I was not nearly as angry as I could have been. Saddened and wounded more then anything. Now for the final time, I am changed! I am not angry and spiteful and full of hate. That was the ancient Armand. The modern Armand is entirely different, though somehow it does not seem to have sunken in. Perhaps I need to change my name once more?
