I am breaking a solemn promise to myself and others by posting - TopicsExpress

I am breaking a solemn promise to myself and others by posting something not focused on my own business and betterment of my familys situation. However, while striving to better my own situation and that of my family, I cannot stand aside and ignore the erosion of our shared freedoms at the hands of the thought police. Theres the maxim, the standard that you walk past, is the standard you accept. Writing something in a notebook which makes someone else (who should have been minding their own business) uncomfortable now gets you hauled off an aircraft and detained by the AFP for questioning and background checks. This is full-on Orwellian thought-crime territory. An Australian who could have been you, could have been me, had his personal liberty interdicted only because he was privately mocking the manufactured mind-poison of Big Brother. In a supposedly free and democratic country, the country that I love, I just cant let this go past without posing a serious question. Have we so quickly reached the point where recording our own views (provided they are not specifically in contravention of directly applicable criminal codes) in our own notebook is now cause for curtailment of our freedom of movement? Were now truly in the grip of fascism if this is allowed to go unchecked.
