I am building a docking/charging station for my various black slabs of glass and plastic. I mean, my phones and tablets and stuff. Looking carefully at all my USB chargers, I see that the Apple ones are rated for much higher output than everything else at comparable sizes. The iPhone chargers are 1000 mA, while Samsung chargers of similar size are 150 mA. And nothing I have comes close to the iPad chargers at 2100 mA. What gives? Pro tip: If you do this, label the charging ends. Also, I got this little multi-port USB charging dock. I love it. (I labeled its ports, too).
