I am cleaning up my computer and trying to organize my iTunes library, which is out of control. When I moved here, my favorite bands were Dave Matthews Band, U2, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I spent a lot of money in music stores, almost as much as I spent on books. I had a decent music collection, especially the jazz, but two years ago, about the same time I came up with the idea for Harmonia, I began a love affair with African and Brazilian music. 21,000 tunes later (6,000 acquired in the last two years), making a play list is now a lengthy task. I tried to add many of my favorite musicians) into the FB likes section, but the majority of musicians I listen to on a daily basis do not have FB pages, including several US and Canadian musicians. Salif Keita rocks it. There is not a song of his that I have not liked. I do not know what the lyrics mean, but the YouTube blurb says it is a tribute to women. It always makes me feel happy and want to sway my hips when I hear it.
