I am committed to developing a staged plan that will bring the Yeppoon Foreshore to reality so we have facilities where residents and visitors to our Shire can enjoy recreation together. I want to include the ideas and contributions that have been put forward already and ensure that these ideas with current community views form the direction of the pathway forward. I will lobby both State and Federal Government to support this project as strongly as they have done in other locations in Queensland. We need to be prudent with our commitment of Council funds to the project and ensure we have a master plan that can be progressed over time. We need to ensure this item comes back onto the table at Council sooner rather than later so all of the options can be explored and some action on the Foreshore be seen as soon as possible.
