I am continuously amused by the way my four-legged kids are constantly adapting themselves to life here on the farm. For instance, I just changed the linens on the bed, and it didnt dawn on me until after I was halfway through that I hadnt actually TOLD the kids to get off the bed; theyd done it on their own as soon as I pulled out a fresh set of sheets. If this sounds like no big deal to you, then youve obviously never attempted to change the linens on your bed with five or six Chihuahuas helping. Note: said help typically consists of one mildly psychotic Chi rampaging around on top of the clean sheets, leaping and twisting in a frantic effort to grab the leading edge of each sheet or blanket as you fling it across the mattress; two or three Chis sitting sadly in the middle of the bed, wondering in a tragically apathetic way where their pillows have gone; and at least two more pretending they are Orcas storming through the deep blue seas in search of prey... On a distantly related note, speaking of the kids, I received an unsolicited private message from someone I dont know this evening. I dont recognize the name, or the profile photo, and we have no mutual friends in common; my best guess is that this individual has read things Ive posted on one (or more) of the local pet groups I follow. At any rate, this person decided, for some unfathomable reason, to send me a vicious note, telling me that my use of the word kids to refer to my dogs is disgusting, and is indicative of a deep and severe psychological disorder. I have, of course, deleted the message and blocked that individual, but I have to give them points for not only spelling those words correctly, but also using them appropriately in a sentence, however hurtful (only momentarily, however, as I took it with a large grain of salt; that person obviously doesnt know me at all) or mean-spirited said message may have been...lol.
