I am crying with GREAT NEWS! Dr. Troy called at 7am this morning. After they completed the x-rays last night and found the pus amount is LESS and they drained less than 10 ml from Sammi’s lungs, they decided to take out her chest tubes. They said she did great last night. At first a little rough from the pain, but overall pretty good. Even though we don’t know how she will do when we stop the antibiotics, I am so happy right now. I GET TO BRING MY SAM HOME TONIGHT!!! !!! :.) I can’t stop crying from being so happy. I have missed her so much. I am really, really looking forward to lying with her and cuddling tonight. I get to pick her up this afternoon at 4pm as long as she continues doing well. I will monitor her constantly. I have to count her breaths each night when she falls asleep for about 5 days, and we will return for more x-rays.The stronger antibiotics should help kill the infection completely. THEN, the true test is when we take her off the antibiotics and complete more x-rays. We are praying and praying the foxtail was flushed. I also pray she does very well at home each night. If not, she must go back to Loomis for the CT Scan.
