I am curious how many people have been reassured by others right into hell by bad advice and bad doctrine. If someone expresses concern to you over their salvation, whether they be saved or not, dont be so quick to reassure them. You have no right and no authority. If someone wonders if they are saved, your duty is to point them to Scripture by which they are to examine their lives. Do NOT declare them saved. If they are concerned, there may very well be cause for concern. So many are quick to ask if that person has asked Jesus into their heart, or if they have said the prayer, or walked the aisle, or been baptized. Is so, well, dont you worry, praise God! Thats just the devil messin with you, tell him to leave you alone! Un-Biblical nonsense. Dont you dare say such rubbish to a person. Walk them through Scripture. Show them the passages dealing with what a Christian life looks like. Pray, read, pray, read. Let God reveal their Spiritual state to them. You have no authority to do so. You cant possibly know what is truly in the heart of another. Side note: dont tell people stupid stuff like You write down the day and time you were saved, so if you ever doubt, you can just look at that. I have personally know several people that thought themselves saved, but later realized they were not. Had they followed this foolish advice, they would still be damned. This stuff is far too important to mess up with bad advice. Proceed with the utmost caution.
