I am follower of Mr. Mukurima X Muriuki especially in his analysis of his speeches. Going by the sit-in of teachers at TSC (Teachers Service Commission) headquarters in Nairobi praying for transfer from the insecurity-ridden former North Eastern Province, I am reminded of the Rivers of Blood Speech by a former of House of Commons of UK Rt. Hon. Enoch Powell on April 20th 1968 to fellow Conservatives in Birmingham in United Kingdom. The dangerous sentiments were condemned by all including his Conservative Party as he clearly pointed towards racism and outright segregation. In the same view, residents of Counties no. 7, 8 and 9 - Garissa, Wajir and Mandera; have always condemned other Kenyan on basis of tribes and religion. No one chooses to loss his/her life, no one chooses to be hated, no Kenyan chooses to be looked-down on, no Kenyan chooses to be communally harassed by NE residents. I dont know how Bishop Mike Njiru and my friend Tonny Mwendwa are faring. Yes there is a matter of national cohesion but not with the environment clearly described by Enoch Powell and immorally, prejudicial, wrongly replicated by NE residents when he concluded by saying, “As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding,… I seem to see the River Tiber foaming with much blood.... Kenyans have lost lives in NE on account of tribe and religion. Let the residents of NE continue sleeping through a revolution, for all we care is our lives and human well-being. Ask Steve Muchiri, he will tell you that Rugogwe Village Primary School needs more teachers and we are accommodating and peaceful. TSC give the transfer. NE politicians talk to your people to discard Enoch Powell mentality. Sossion kaa ngumu.
