I am glad that someone is standing up to for the Consumer - TopicsExpress

I am glad that someone is standing up to for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. It is about time that the three credit reporting bureaus in the USA had federal oversight. In Morocco around the time that the USA-Morocco Free Trade Agreement was minted, the lead lawyer for USAID in Morocco could not even get the Moroccans to adopt law like the UCC to revamp the law of secured transactions on USA American law. That is a disgrace. The UCC, especially Article 9, is one of the best pieces of code even enacted in the USA. It is elegance and a delight to manipulate. John Lawlor, Esq. of Mayer Brown LLP knows it like the back of his hand. He is an honest artisan with it. When, however, even the law of secured transactions in the USA has no federal oversight from a bureau to back up what the judiciary does, why should a foreign trading partner see fit to model its laws after USA code law? Even a piece of law like the Uniform Commercial Code? Blue Sky reporting? Hmmmm.
