I am going on record to say that sometimes I think utility companies DO NOT know their behinds from a hole in the ground, and certain branches of Chattanooga city tax departments are right there with them. For almost three months I have called both the utility company AND the part of the city that handles this water-related tax every month sometimes three times a month regarding a massive leak we had from a burst pipe. And now after the water company adjustment has been made and we still owe a third of a small fortune, the tax department, who has charged us 125% of the outrageous bill for a sewer tax, is now telling me I have to talk to someone else in a different department, and that its not true that I was advised initially to pay the minimum and when the water company adjusted the tax would be adjusted. Grrrrrrrr!! I have to talk to a whole different department tomorrow because theyre closed now and we may be paying over a thousand bucks on water that went bye bye into the soil. Anybody want to buy a building? It was a lovely antique shop.
