I am going to consider this a public service announcement...LOL...I love Pinterest...I really do...I get some fabulous ideas and recipes from there...Now, the cake decorator side of me...I hate Pinterest...Why???...because people send me pictures from Pinterest of fabulous cakes that would cost $250-$300 in a bakery and want me to make it exactly like the picture for $50...(I try to keep most cakes in the $30-50 range) I explain upfront the cake will not be exactly like the picture but will be really close to it, some get that and some just dont...myself and all my other cake decorator friends run into the same issue. Most of us do cakes 1/2 to 1/3 what a bakery would charge because we like making cakes and we appreciate it when people ask us to make a cake for them...it is a compliment because Wal-Mart is right down the road and you can get a cake there anytime. So please, take the time to educate yourself on custom cake prices...If you can access Pinterest you can also access Google and there is tons of information out there....
