I am going to have a rant. I am so disappointed with so much that has happened on here on Facebook and in the Daily Disgust press in the past week.Today, George Clooney has had to force an apology out of The Daily Mail on line for totally irresponsible journalism, a story which suggests he is at war with his future wifes family over their religion. Then, today, there are pictures of Angelina Jolie from, FOR HEAVENS SAKE, 1999, in The Daily Mail - when apparently she was a drug taker. No pictures of her shooting up anything. Just looking like most of us when we get up in the morning. But of course, little mention of the absolutely wonderful work she is doing NOW, at this moment to help the Syrian refugees in the Al Zaatari camp in Jordan. Al Zaatari is where all the proceeds went from my own art exhibition in Abu Dhabi in May.My money will rehouse several refugee families who have been living in appalling conditions in tents. I know the amount of awareness of the tragedy unfolding there has been helped by Angelinas help. But, No.... Lets duff up Angelina...15 years on! Do I need to ask all my REAL friends if that is fair? Then this week a friend of mine on Facebook made a totally unfounded and irresponsible statement about a senior and high profile member of the team of the winner of the mens singles championship at Wimbledon. The man targetted by this friend has been sober and clean for years. But.... following a disgraceful remark about his sobriety..... BLOATED was the dismissive and uncaring and final observation posted on here. When I warned caution, the friend removed my little post and carried on arrogantly to leave the post on Facebook. I was shocked to see there were a number of people even liked this post. Without question. Then last week, I was appalled by Muslim racist posts by another friend. Totally disgraceful. These are people who were former journalists! People we looked on as fair minded and reasonable and without prejudice. I have not even mentioned the shocking trolls on the Referendum...and what people are subjected to when they declare their allegiance to the NO vote. I joined Facebook to have Friends....but this past week, I have found unsavoury people I really dont want to be in touch with any longer. And they will know who they are when I unfriend them.
