I am going to have a rant here so if you dont like what Im going - TopicsExpress

I am going to have a rant here so if you dont like what Im going to say then just dont read it but I must warn you I am not in the mood for any negative feedback here. As a lot of you know I spend a lot of time on here helping out where I can on a wide range of different projects so was online Thiursday evening when the news broke of the fire at Manchester dogs home, I tried to pass on as much news and appeals as possible to get help for all those people that were rescuing and helping at the scene. I have also been sharing out the fund raising appeal that was launched by Manchester Evening News and was absolutely overwhelmed by the response to all of it. I have seen a lot of comments from people who have posted asking weather or not the kennels were insured and how THEY are of the opinion that the fund raiser has raised too much for the home and the dogs. So far, surprisingly, I have kept my mouth shut and my opinion to myself and just got on with it (hmm, I thought it was strange too...) Now I have seen enough. So what if the home was insured and I dont really give a flying monkeys shit what people think is too much, top and bottom is that dogs home, over the years, has helped so many homeless and needy animals who have been in a position where they were at risk of being picked up by local authority dog wardens who take them to other places which keep them for sometimes no longer than a week and then put them to sleep. Manchester and Cheshire dogs homes have a no kill policy, no animal is put to sleep unless it has no quality of life or suffering badly due to pain or sickness that cant be treated. The staff they have there are dedicated, every animal they take in is treated with love and respect. Every year we see these shows going on t.v to raise money for the children at home and abroad, they raise millions during the weeks building up to the t.v show and more is donated on the night, I never see anyone commenting about too much money raised for those causes. Yes the dogs maybe to some just animals yes, so what, they have 4 legs and cant speak our language but what difference does that make? It has been a lot of years since those facilities were built, and it has taken something like this to happen to enable new facilities to be built. If you dont want to donate to the cause then dont donate but dont sit and mouth off at those of us that wanted to help and are so happy to see that people care enough to give so much money to such a good cause. Who cares if the insurance will pay for the rebuild? Every penny raised will be spent to improve the facilities and also the lives of those poor unfortunate animals that so desperately need help. I for one will do everything I can to help them wherever I can and if people dont like it then tough, either put up and shut up, join in and help or simply click unfriend and go on your way, thats your decision but the negative comments on top of the tragedy of losing 53 helpless souls in such a horrific way as well as one of the best facilities in the NWest are not welcome here.... Ok, feeling better after that, rant over. :)
