I am going to try this on some of my silver anything abrasive will scratch the silver ... use a glass container large enough for the silver to fit inside and be covered with water ... microwave the water to boiling ... place a crunched up piece of aluminum foil on the bottom and slightly up the sides ... lay the silvger on the foil in the hot water ... liberally sprinkle with baking soda ... let it rest until the water is cool and the bubbling has stopped ... rinse and dry ... this is what they do in museums to clean their silver This would sure speed up the cleaning process .
