I am growing with excitement about the Belize International Film Festival! This year in addition to the category that our film has been nominated for, there is an additional category that I am hopeful we could win in! Most Notable Belizean Film (in the 2013 Festival) This Award was created to recognise initiative and endeavour in Belizean film by rewarding original Belizean filmmaking that shows creativity and innovation. Any film accepted in any of the Festival’s categories with the exception of Music Video is eligible for this award providing it meets the criteria below: Have significant Belizean creative involvement in both cast and crew. (50%+ in both areas) Have a Belizean Director, Writer or Producer credited to the project. Have a storyline reflecting a Belizean reality or experience. Nominees for this award are selected by the Festival’s Selection Committee and presented to the Jury for a final decision. The Award is presented at the Jury’s discretion.
