I am happy it was a great turn out at the Cherokees of Orange - TopicsExpress

I am happy it was a great turn out at the Cherokees of Orange County event yesterday - Anna Wells posted this on the discourse page today - instead of focusing on the event she made it about me and the fact I was not there at the event. I would have loved to have attended, but my father has been sick with congestive heart failure.. People are so quick to judge without getting any information or asking the person they are criticizing and attacking... I am one of 5 board members of CNCA. I was at the Orange County picnic a few weeks ago and had a great time. I met and spoke with many At Large Cherokees. I support ALL our At Large communities not just the ones I live close to.. I am also focusing on helping expand our communities. I am in contact with many At Large Cherokees wanting to form a community in their area because not ALL at-large citizens live close to a community. Anna Wells 2 mins Cherokees of Orange County hosted their annual Harvest Festival this last weekend, and they did a great job raising funds for Cherokee families in need. I drove up from Temecula and Michael drove up from San Diego (over an hour drive one way) to support them. Point being....a newly elected board member of CNCA who lives in that county didnt bother to show up at all. Establishing relationship, face to face with citizens is key to representation of ALL at-large citizens. Considering CN sent out an employee as well, the least she could have done was show up. Putting on these gatherings requires just that...showing up. It means planning for meetings, the physical work of setting up, organizing, etc. I guess her version of community representation is easier...it means you can stay in your PJs and slippers never leaving your house. She missed a great afternoon, Robert Lewis had us all rolling in laughter! Like
