I am happy to announce the release of The Ankle Sprain Diaries https://smashwords/books/view/423892 Below is a teaser So we began our marriage with me on crutches and in a cast. There was something about me being injured that seemed to be a big turn on for Hank. He was so loving and caring in his taking care of me. Just like my first sprain with him we made love much more than we usually do, it only enhanced the concept of us being newlyweds. I got out of the cast near the end of July. It took another week or so before I was able to walk on the foot properly. Once I was able to get a shoe on the foot and walk somewhat normally, even though I still had a limp, they started me on PT. In early August I began PT three times a week. I was still wearing an ankle brace everyday and being cautious with the ankle. As 1990 progressed my confidence in the ankle increased. I had a much better feeling about this physical therapy than I did with the Hooters sprain. By the end of 1990 I felt like I had largely recovered from the wedding sprain as it had come to be called. The physical therapy really did increase my confidence in the ankle, more than it had with any of my previous sprain. In March of 1991 I was released from PT and had a final follow up with the doctor. He advised me to stay active but to be careful in what activities I engage in. I left his office really hoping all of this was behind me. We carried on with our lives after that giving birth to giving birth to Amy in December of 1991 and Jenna in December 1992. Our lives were full and exciting. I continued to carry on and with the exception of some occasional swelling for no particular reason my ankle did very well, even through the two pregnancies. After both pregnancies I worked hard to get my shape back. While not completely regaining it either time I really did feel good about how I looked having had two babies. I was very careful with my exercise. Instead of running I rode a stationary bike. I stayed away from activities that would make me jump or make lateral movements. I usually wore flats limiting heels to once or twice a week and usually something low. At 5’9” I could wear flats and look good, although I had always enjoyed wearing heels and wished I could more. Life went on uneventfully enough for us. Our marriage was great and the girls were just angels.
