I am happy to say that Eva the husky whose plea for help has gone viral, will be coming into our care next week. As we are over capacity in our fosters we are desperately looking for someone to offer to foster this girl. She needs a home with no cats and where there is a secure yard since she is, after all, a Husky!!! Below is the Caregivers account of Evas story!! Eva is approximately 8 years old. She often ran away from her previous owners, a middle-aged couple who said they never bonded with Eva - she wasnt like their other dog. The last time she ran, and Vancouver Animal Control picked her up, her owners just decided to leave her there. When the owner of the doggy daycare that Evas previous owners had used, found out that Eva had been in the pound for 2 months, she immediately went and adopted her. Unfortunately running the doggy day care prevents Evas current owner from devoting the necessary time and attention to Eva she feels she needs. There was an incident where Eva snarled at one of the dogs that was being dropped off. Even though the two dogs stayed together all day after that, without incident, Evas current owner became very nervous since looking after other peoples dogs is her business. With that incident, coupled with the propensity Eva has for running away (although she always returns), Evas current owner feels Eva would do better in a home with owners who understand the husky breed. Eva is a warm and affectionate dog who is very laid back when in the house (the pics of her will be a great example of this). She just needs a chance! If you can help us save Eva, please go to our website at victoriahumanesociety and fill out a foster app!! Thank you
