I am heavy hearted tonight, and have practically been numb since about 2:30 this afternoon, when I learned of the death of my longtime friend Rick Griffin. I had known Rick since my childhood, and had been friends w/him since my late teens. He baptized me @ the Bono Church of Christ when I was 25. We used to sit together at ASU ballgames, and even made a few road trips together to watch the Indians play. I recall a trip to Carbondale, Illinois back in the mid 80s w/Rick and another good friend, Steve Cremeens, whom we lost in a car accident almost six years ago. It is a sobering fact to realize that of the three who made that trip, I am now the only one left. While Rick and I grew apart over the years and werent as close as we once were, my respect and admiration for what a good man he was never wavered. In Ricks honor and memory...I ask that you cherish your friends, and hold tight to the ones you love.
