I am home for the weekend from Leeds to spend Eid with my family. As I survey the kitchen counters laden with pots upon pots of food painstakingly prepared by my mother and begin to get the house ready for the legion of aunties and uncles for the festivities, I cant help but let my mind wander to those so many miles away; that cannot celebrate this special time with the same feelings as me. There are children too scared to play, and mothers and fathers unable to feed their families in Gaza this evening. On what should be a time for laughter and family, there are funeral prayers and tears. This Eid, my hopes and prayers are with those families. I sincerely hope they can find peace soon, and that their perpetrators recognize the injustice of their actions. #GazaUnderAttack #JusticeforPalestine
