I am honestly shocked with the punishment policys, as well as certain methodologies in which my daughters grade 2 teacher has set in place, in the classroom. Keep in mind that these are just 6/7 yr olds!!! Also its French immersion so added to the pile they are learning a new language!!! Yet said teacher feels it is ok to set up a self governing system in which they can pretty much invoke a citizens arrest and demand a ticket from another student to add to theirs so they may place these tickets into a box which is a draw for prizes each day... Needless to say there IS unfair ticketing amongst the children... It has STARTED a bullying black market system where there was NONE! This is JUST the tip of this scandalous iceberg! Wait till you SEE how she has these children write out their mistakes including curse words.. But wait, how did my child know how to spell that word??? Oh yea, just have a look on the back of the page and read the cute lil paragraph this teacher wrote out to ENSURE they knew what to write!!! Oh but said teacher claims that she only re-writes what the children write because they have messy writing & she wanted to be sure that she could read it down the road... Now I only JUST NOW hear of this, yet apparently shes had my child do this more than twice and encourages them to be independent to self govern so mom n dad. Need not be involved if all is solved!?! Yeeeepppp. When I asked my child to tell me all about this, when she has to do this n how, basically HER story, in HER words! she was very descriptive when she said she was with Mme. When the other kids were outside playing so I asked what do you mean outside playing?) she replied for recess with even more description added. Funny thing happened when the said teacher returned from photocopying this paper at my demand. I asked why this was done alone at recess and not with others during classroom time?!? She said (looking directly at Emma) ohhh no hunnie it was just before gym, & everyone was getting ready to go, remembeeeeerrrr???!!! OK! Enough! BRAINWASH MUCH?! Im not sure how many will read all of this if any, tho Id love some feed back?! Also I am working o a way to upload a photo of the paper!!! Youll notice how Emma spells shit as chete and stops, than she says this is when said teacher wrote out AND spelled it aloud so that my daughter could spell the curse word she said in a lapse of good judgement, as many or ALL children do at some point for whatever reason!!! Hopefully I was able to upload the pics, this is ONE page, front and back... Pls give your honest opinion! If Im over reacting id like to know, tho I cant see this being right in any circumstance. Thanks for reading and or commenting. :) Oh also I have NEVER heard my daughter use the words this teacher says are her very own! Such as cupped my hands spelled cupd yaaaa ok teach! Lol.
