I am hoping all my friends and family will support my Mom by liking the Facebook page for her new project Quilts of Hope. As some of you may know, my Mom has been diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease. This disease is not well known and has a staggering list of symptoms. In the last few years my Mom has gone from a busy entrepreneur who ran a successful floral shop, to someone who has to nap after a trip to the grocery store. We have had countless trips to the emergency room at the hospital for various frightening symptoms such as chest pain, abdominal pain, a mini-stroke, and more. Doctors have found lesions on her brain and she has constant pain throughout her body. All of this is caused by this disease. Yet she is determined to make the best of it by making quilts for other "mito" patients.
